Children’s Safe Harbor works closely with the 17th Circuit Court of Illinois to support families involved in court-ordered parenting time.
- The 17th Circuit has created a specific court order format for use when referring families to Children’s Safe Harbor for Supervised Visitation or Safe Exchange Services
- Children’s Safe Harbor services are designed to provide a neutral, safe space and are neither therapeutic nor evaluative
- Children’s Safe Harbor does not provide recommendations to the court regarding parenting skills, the appropriateness of supervised vs. unsupervised time, or the amount of parenting time to be granted
Note:
- Both parties must call Children’s Safe Harbor directly to begin the intake/orientation process
- The process may take up to two weeks, so please consider this when setting service start dates in court orders
